Scenic has announced the launch of its first ocean vessel, a  discovery yacht named Scenic Eclipse.

It will launch on August 31 2018 and will embark on its maiden voyage from Istanbul to Venice before sailing to The Americas; Antarctica; Europe and the Mediterranean; and the Arctic and Norwegian Fjords.

The six-star ultra-luxury yacht for 228 guests features 114 all-verandah suites from 32sqm to the 233sqm two-bedroomOwner’s Penthouse Suite.

There will also be two on board helicopters and a seven-seat submarine for sightseeing. A Discovery Team will help guests experience remote regions led by experts.

Public spaces include six on board dining options, a Pool Deck, a Sun Deck with jacuzzis, bars and lounges. There’s also a 450sqm spa featuring luxury treatments, indoor and outdoor jacuzzis and plunge pools. In addition, a gym and a separate studio for pilates and yoga will provide more wellness areas.

It will be all-inclusive including tips and gratuities.

The vessel has been built to high safety standards and designed to navigate challenging seas with zero speed stabiliser fins – 50% larger than standard to provide greater stability. It will also have the highest passenger ship ice class rating.

In many cases only the supremely wealthy or explorers and adventurers could’ve travelled to the Antarctic hinterland or have ventured below the surface to witness Polar wildlife in their natural habitat but now we are making these experiences assessible to our guests whilst they travel in the utmostluxury and safety.”
