Royal Caribbean holds first UK trade visit of the year

Royal Caribbean International has held its first UK ship visit of the year for the travel trade.

On 8 July, sixteen homeworkers were invited to experience Anthem of the Seas while the Quantum-class ship was docked in Southampton.

The visit included a group tour of the ship with exclusive viewings of the staterooms available.

There was also the opportunity to ride on the North Star, the observation capsule that takes guests 100 metres above sea level, followed by lunch at Windjammer Marketplace.

The group then had time to explore other areas on board the ship, including RipCord by iFly – the skydiving simulator – and the FlowRider surf simulator.

Royal Caribbean planning more agent visits

Tracy Sutton, from InteleTravel, who took part in the visit, said: “We were treated so well by all of the staff on board, including a lovely lunch.

“My highlight without a doubt was a ride in the North Star, taking us 300ft above sea level and views over to Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight.

“There is so much for everyone to do on Anthem, every age is covered, and the value for money you get is incredible.”

Royal Caribbean International UK head of sales Torey Kings-Hodkin added: “It was a pleasure to host some of our travel customers on board last weekend, several of whom were new to brand and even new to cruise.

“First-hand experience of our products makes an undeniable difference when it comes to being able to sell our holidays effectively.

“Anthem really is a phenomenal ship, with so much for all the family to do. We’re incredibly lucky to have this breathtaking ship on our doorstep in Southampton this summer and also returning to the UK for summer 2023.”

Royal also confirmed that more ship visits are scheduled to take place throughout the summer on Anthem of the Seas.
