ROL Cruise raises £10k for Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal

ROL Cruise has donated £10,000 to the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal, marking the agency’s 10th consecutive year of supporting the charity

From 1-11 November, ROL pledged £10 for every booking made and at the end of the campaign, the company rounded the total up to £10,000.

Earlier this month, representatives from the agency met with Poppy Appeal manager for Essex, Kirsten Swan, and local Poppy Appeal collector, Jackie Mason, to present the cheque in person. During the visit, Swan and Mason shared insights into the work carried out by the Royal British Legion.

ROL Cruise CEO Rosie Cairns said: “It is a privilege to support the Royal British Legion for the tenth year in a row. The work they do for serving and ex-serving personnel – and for the families who stand beside them – is nothing short of extraordinary.

“Our co-owners and customers feel deeply connected to this cause, and we are proud that this year’s donation will help the Royal British Legion continue providing essential support to those who have given so much.”

Swan added: “The donation will go towards the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal which aims to raise over £50 million to fund the RBL’s vital work supporting serving personnel, veterans, and their families throughout their lives with whatever they need, whenever it’s needed – with over 7,000 members of the Armed Forces community receiving expert advice and practical support at any given time.”

The Poppy Appeal plays a crucial role in funding the Royal British Legion’s wide-reaching services, which begin after just one day of service and extend long after life in the Armed Forces.

The £10,000 donation from ROL Cruise will help support initiatives like mental health counselling, mobility assistance, help with employment and financial challenges, care for older veterans, and vital community programmes that combat loneliness and isolation.
