Riviera Travel has appointed Gemma Ashworth as key account manager, succeeding recently promoted head of trade UK Amanda Docherty in leading the company’s home-based agent partnerships

The move comes as the line looks to maintain positive booking momentum from this channel, which is currently the fastest-growing area of the business with 30 per cent growth on 2024.

“We are thrilled to welcome Gemma to our fantastic trade team. She brings a wealth of experience, but more importantly, she’s a true people person,” Docherty said. “I’m confident she’ll make the role her own, and her personality will be a perfect match for the team.”

Ashworth brings more than 25 years of experience in the travel industry, including 12 years at Carnival Cruise Line where she held the position of senior sales manager.

She will also be supporting Riviera Travel’s country manager Ireland, Carrie Day, in being a point of contact for some of the home-working partners based in Ireland.

Ashworth said: “Joining Riviera Travel is an exciting new chapter for me, and I’m eager to contribute to a brand that delivers such incredible holidays while being part of the fantastic team culture that has been built.

“I’m particularly excited to work alongside our network of highly skilled home-based agents, whose knowledge and dedication are key to Riviera’s success, and I look forward to supporting them as they grow their businesses.”

Vicky Billing, director of trade and partnerships UK and Ireland, added: “This appointment reinforces the importance of our trade partners to Riviera Travel. As I have said before, one size doesn’t fit all, and our rapid-response approach continues to resonate with our partners.

“I am excited to see how Gemma shapes this role going forward. I am also incredibly fortunate to work with such talented individuals in our UK & Ireland trade team, and we never
take the support of our trade partners for granted.”
