Princess Cruises has confirmed that its new ship Enchanted Princess has successfully completed her sea trials.
The cruise line’s brand new ship set out to sea in Italy, before going through a series of tests and manoeuvres checking overall safety and stability.
Following the successful sea trials, the ship is now back in the Fincantieri shipyard for further finishing.
Enchanted Princess will be the fifth ship in Princess Cruises’ line of Royal-class ships, joining Royal Princess, Regal Princess, Majestic Princess, and Sky Princess.
A fifth ship, Discovery Princess, is scheduled for delivery in November 2021.
Enchanted Princess will carry up to 3,660 passengers and 1,346 crew and was originally scheduled to set sail in 2020.
However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, her debut dates and completion are still pending.
The ship will offer features like the largest balcony at sea, a Vegas-style casino, Princess Theatre and be OceanMedallion enabled.
Six speciality restaurants and 12 complimentary dining venues are also available to guests, along with many swimming pools, bars and Princess Live – dedicated space for live acts and special guests.
When completed, the ship will sail itineraries around the Western and Eastern Caribbean, Mediterranean, Canary Islands and Atlantic, Adriatic and Aegean.
Sailings will be either seven,14, 21 days or 22 days, and many are available for agents and passengers to book now.
In other news, Princess Cruises recently announced some major deployment changes for its summer 2021 Alaska and Europe sailings.
The cruise line announced the changes yesterday (8 July), revealing that Majestic Princess, the line’s 3,500-passenger ship, will embark on her inaugural Alaska season from summer 2021, while Regal Princess will return to Europe.
Passengers will be able to experience Majestic Princess for the first time in Alaska, with the cruise ship replacing Alaska veteran, Regal Princess.
Majestic will pick up Regal‘s published ‘Seattle Inside Passage’ departures from May to September 2021, all except Regal Princess‘ scheduled sailing on 4 May 2021. This sailing will be cancelled.
