Princess Cruises announces longest-ever UK season on Sky Princess

Princess Cruises UK coastal voyages on Sky Princess

Princess Cruises will sail its longest-ever UK season in 2022, it has been revealed, with guests able to cruise on the line’s 3,660-guest Sky Princess.

Sky Princess, which joined the fleet in October 2019, will sail from Southampton from March-October 2022, a month longer than any previous UK season.

In addition, Crown Princess will be based in Southampton offering British Isles itineraries, while the line’s newest ship Enchanted Princess will visit Scandinavia and Russia roundtrip from Copenhagen.

Regal Princess will cover the Mediterranean, while Island Princess will visit a variety of European destinations, including Israel, roundtrip from Rome.

Princess’ Elite guests can book 2022 voyages from 2pm on 1 December. General sales open at 2pm on 2 December. Seven-night cruises on Sky Princess start from £699pp.

Speaking during a webinar with media and trade partners, Princess Cruises vice-president UK & Europe Tony Roberts said the deployment demonstrated the line’s commitment to the UK market.

“Our goal has been to bring the best ships to Europe,” he added. “Sky Princess will be the newest ship we’ve ever had sailing from Southampton. We’re at a turning point as we prepare for the future of cruising.”

Princess also has a Cruise with Confidence policy to enable customers to cancel up to 30 days before their departure and receive the cancellation fees back as a future cruise credit. This applies to bookings made up to 31 January 2021, for sailings until 31 October 2021.

Roberts added: “There is really strong demand, particularly for sailings from Southampton. We’ve had great support from past guests and there really is a huge amount of pent-up demand.

“We’re also seeing a good deal of new business, [so we’re] incredibly encouraged by that. There is a market of previous cruisers at the moment, but not necessarily those who have sailed with Princess before.”
