P&O Cruises drops conference merch for £10k charity donation

P&O Cruises

P&O Cruises has donated £10,000 to Teenage Cancer Trust on behalf of UK travel agents, diverting funds that would usually be spent on promotional items at agent conferences

The line, which raised the funds through onboard guest activities such as Trek the Deck and crew-led challenges, will mark the tenth anniversary of its partnership with the charity in 2025.

P&O hopes to raise £1 million for Teenage Cancer Trust by the end of the year, which will be supported by scaling back branded giveaways and redirect funds.

Sales director Ruth Venn said travel agent conferences are “fundamental” in the company’s travel agent training and engagement plans and it welcomes the opportunity to speak with hundreds of agents over the coming months.

“We are reducing the distribution of branded merchandise, and we are confident agents will support us in this decision,” she added.

“We are so proud to be coming into our tenth year of supporting the incredible work undertaken by Teenage Cancer Trust so there couldn’t be a better time for us to redirect funds.”

Venn continued: “The best takeaways from travel agent conference season are the ideas shared and the relationships built, and we encourage agents to talk to us more now than ever before.”

Fern West, senior partnership manager at Teenage Cancer Trust, said: “We are incredibly grateful to P&O Cruises colleagues and guests for their generous donation which will continue to enable us to support teenagers and young adults who have cancer.”

She added: “We are proud of our partnership with P&O Cruises and what we have achieved together over the years and we are looking forward to working with them in the future.”

It comes after the line opened pre-registration for its new collection of winter 2026/27 itineraries.
