Part-time Not Just Travel agent takes £1.5m in cruise sales in 2023

Gemma Outram, Not Just Travel

A part-time Not Just Travel agent has amassed a whopping £1.5 million worth of cruise sales in 2023.

Gemma Outram, who joined NJT as cruise business development manager last year, achieved the figures while working part-time as an agent alongside her main duties as a BDM.

Outram was among the homeworking agency’s top performing agents last year, which also includes Mark and Isobel McCardie, who took bookings worth more than £3.8 million, Gaynor Speakman who took £1.7 million in bookings and Lloydie Gardener, who saw £1.47 million in bookings.

Outram’s achievement comes as a result of the company’s Cruise Division, cruise website, Cruise Mastery Programme and Seminar at Sea cruise trips, which led to NJT consultants making twice as many cruise bookings per day compared to 2022.

Not Just Travel’s focus on cruise paid off in 2023, with sales tripling since the launch of the Cruise Division in September 2022.

The company has hosted hundreds of consultants on several company cruises with NCL, Virgin Voyages and MSC and in June last year, launched an exclusive cruise club, Circle of Excellence, for its top selling cruise agents.

Early in 2023 it also launched its standalone cruise website to help agents compare different cruise lines and itineraries to help boost business.

Not Just Travel marks ‘phenomenal’ 2023

Steve Witt, co-founder, said: “2023 has been a phenomenal year and our upwards sales trend looks set to continue well into Peaks and beyond. We’ve paid more commission to our travel franchisees than ever before, as their sales go stratospheric. Every year, our business develops and evolves.”

Co-founder Paul Harrison said the brand’s holiday sales grew by 36.6% in 2023, which he described as “phenomenal – especially when compared to many other travel companies”.

“These sales have been generated by consultants, nearly all of whom have joined us from outside the travel industry, have cross-over skills and a strong entrepreneurial attitude with a hunger for success.”
