Oceania Cruises celebrated its most successful booking day in its history on 3 March following the launch of its 2022-2023 Tropics and Exotics Collection.
The programme features 127 itineraries, from seven to 77 days, across Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, the Caribbean, South America, and the South Pacific.
The top-selling destinations were Asia, Africa, and South America. The Caribbean and Australia/New Zealand also “produced strong results”, the line said, with the single bestselling voyage of all being a 35-day circumnavigation of Australia.
Oceania’s Grand Voyages, which range from several weeks to more than two months in length, accounted for almost one-third of bookings taken on 3 March.
Oceania Cruises president & CEO Bob Binder said: “The tremendous wave of bookings we saw on the day we opened our new 2022 and 2023 itineraries for sale underscores the extraordinary demand for long and exotic cruise holidays. Upscale travellers are eager to explore the world once more and are booking farther in advance to ensure their travel dreams are fulfilled.”
The booking record comes weeks after the line sold out its six-month world cruise on the first day it opened for sale to the general public.
The line has also seen “exceptionally strong demand” for its 2022 Europe and North America collection of voyages. Oceania added that to satisfy demand, it will open the spring, summer and fall 2023 Europe and North America voyages for sale in September.
Late last year, Oceania unveiled a “one-stop shop” to help travel agents build their knowledge of the brand and its itineraries. Agents can access marketing support and use assets to help them when promoting Oceania Cruises.
Senior vice-president and managing director EMEA Bernard Carter said at the time: “Now, more than ever, we believe our partnership with our travel partners is essential to ensure we can navigate our way through these uncertain times together.”
