NCL puts largest-ever ship Norwegian Aura on sale

NCL Aura

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has put its largest-ever vessel, Norwegian Aura, on sale for 2027

Measuring almost 1,130 feet in length and weighing 169,000 gross tonnes, Aura will accommodate 3,840 guests at double occupancy. The ship will be around 10 per cent larger than sister vessels Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna, featuring 1,976 staterooms, including 159 in the keycard-access Haven complex.

It will homeport in Miami beginning from June 2027 following its debut in Europe in late May 2027. NCL said the vessel has been designed with a focus on families, combining new experiences with updated versions of popular onboard features.

Aura represents the evolution of Norwegian Cruise Line and the celebration of bringing together families, friends and travellers from around the world,” said Gary Anslow, regional vice president and head of the UK & Ireland at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. “With brilliance and connection at her core, the ship was created to give all guests the freedom to holiday their very own way, offering the chance to exhale, connect and effortlessly escape into the moment.”

Ocean Boulevard, Aura’s outdoor promenade, will wrap around the ship and offer 11 per cent more space than on Aqua and Luna, with more seating, hot tubs, a new bar, and an expanded Infinity Beach with luxury day beds and wading pools.

Adventure Alley, meanwhile, caters to kids aged six to ten, with twisting tunnels in a seascape-themed setting. Starboard, the Teen Hangout offers a private space with a wave and surf photo wall. At 15 per cent larger than those on Aqua and Luna, the adults-only Vibe Beach Club here features more seating, infinity hot tubs, expanded areas, a waterfall, daybeds, sun loungers, and a central bar. The ship’s hull art is by Rosie Woods, inspired by celestial light and bioluminescent seas.

Aura is currently under construction at Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, with interiors designed by leading studios including AD Associates, Piero Lissoni, Rockwell Group, SMC Design and Studio Dado. Before its Miami inaugural season in June 2027, Aura will sail a seven-day Mediterranean voyage from Trieste to Barcelona.
