MSC Cruises reveals fourth US homeport

MSC Seascape

MSC Cruises has added a fourth US homeport to its 2025 schedule, further expanding its choice of itineraries and ships from North America.

The line will deploy MSC Seascape out of Galveston, Texas from November 2025, beginning with a range of seven-night, year-round sailings, which are now on sale.

Destinations in the Caribbean include Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico and Isla de Roatan, Honduras, with the first departure set for 9 November 2025.

It comes after the line confirmed the order of two new liquefied natural gas (LNG)-powered vessels with French ship builder Chantiers de l’Atlantique.

The two World class options have been confirmed as firm orders, with the option of a fifth ship. The two new ordered vessels – currently referred to as World Class 3 and 4 – will be delivered in 2026 and 2027.

MSC Cruises committed to bringing ‘newest, largest and most innovative ships’ to the US

MSC Cruises chief executive Gianni Onorato said the announcement is the latest step in MSC’s strategy to continue to grow its US footprint.

“Earlier this year we began operations from our third US home port, New York City, where we now sail year-round, and we are proud to add Galveston to that growing line-up alongside PortMiami and Port Canaveral,” he added.

“We are committed to bringing our newest, largest, most innovative ships to the US and are pleased that MSC Seascape will be more easily accessible to guests in central and western parts of the US through Galveston, as well as to our guests internationally via the well-connected international airport hub of Houston.”
