MSC Cruises has confirmed that MSC Meraviglia will sail a season from Southampton in 2027
From 18 May-30 October 2027, the vessel will offer 19 sailings ranging from six- to 14-nights in duration, visiting new destinations such as Ibiza, Gibraltar and Tangier in Morocco, as well as a new Baltic Sea sailing visiting Oslo, Fredericia and Copenhagen.
Meanwhile, MSC Virtuosa will complete its ex-UK summer season in 2026, and then move to the Mediterranean for summer 2027. From April to October 2027 the ship will sail from Barcelona, visiting La Goulette, Palermo, Naples, Livorno, and Marseille.
Antonio Paradiso, vice president of international sales at MSC Cruises, said: “We want to give our customers new experiences, so it’s wonderful that Meraviglia is sailing from the UK in summer 2027.
“She’s a beautiful ship, and part of the same family as Virtuosa. Customers have told us that they want longer sailings, so we are offering 6-14 night holidays visiting new destinations including Ibiza, Gibraltar and Tangier in Morocco, as well as favourite destinations in the Mediterranean and Norwegian Fjords.”
Paradiso reported strong demand from UK customers for Mediterranean cruises, “so having Virtuosa there for summer 2027 is a natural fit for us”.
In winter 2026/27, MSC Preziosa will return to the UK for its longest season ever from Southampton, replacing MSC Poesia.
The line recently announced plans to revamp Poesia with the addition of its luxury all-inclusive cruising concept, the MSC Yacht Club.
The refurbishment will also introduce the Butcher’s Cut and Kaito Sushi Bar speciality restaurants, All-Stars Sports Bar, a refreshed Aurea Spa and enhanced gym.
Guests booking the newly added MSC Yacht Club will experience 24-hour butler and concierge service, spacious suites and access to private facilities, including a dedicated restaurant, lounge, private sundeck with whirlpools, and grill restaurant and bar.
