Marella Cruises to return to Limassol for first time since 2017

Marella Cruises has confirmed it will homeport Marella Discovery 2 out of Limassol, Cyprus, from 7 May 2025 for a series of summer sailings.

The move marks the cruise line’s return to the Cypriot port for the first time since winter 2017, with summer 2025 itineraries on sale from 9 November 2023.

The new homeport will offer voyages on two itineraries; Aegean Gems, which calls at Kusadasi, Mykonos, Piraeus, Souda, Crete and Rhodes. The Grecian Discovery itinerary will visit Turkey and Greek destinations including Piraeus, Santorini, Crete and Rhodes.

In addition, Marella will be offering guests ten cruise and stay destinations to opt for across all seasons, with more than 200 hotels to choose from including Palma, Corfu, Dubrovnik, and Cyprus.

Tui UK and Ireland managing director of cruise Chris Hackney said: “We’re excited to be launching our summer 2025 itineraries and basing Marella Discovery 2 out of Limassol. We are always looking for new ways to improve and adapt our customer offering, whether that’s through new destinations, itineraries, or ships.”

Marella Cruises’ newest ship, Marella Voyager which launched in June 2023, will continue to sail from Palma, Mallorca on four itineraries; Magic of Spain, Treasures of the Mediterranean; Mediterranean Secrets and Mediterranean Medley.
