In what is another boost to the UK cruise market, Marella Cruises has confirmed it intends to operate domestic sailings this summer.
The line announced the news in a post on social media. It has not, however, revealed details about itineraries, departure dates, or vaccination policies.
In a post on Facebook, the line said: “We’re really pleased to announce we’ll be offering domestic cruises sailing from the UK this year. We can’t wait to welcome you back on board. More details will be revealed soon.”
It was revealed in March that domestic cruise sailings could restart from 17 May.
Since the announcement by maritime minister Robert Courts at an All Party Parliamentary Maritime and Group meeting, a number of lines have released UK coastal sailings.
P&O Cruises said it had “never before seen such significant and immediate demand” after its  summer season of UK cruises went on sale.
Princess Cruises is planning a total of 22 sailings on Regal Princess and Sky Princess from July through to September.
Viking, Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, MSC Cruises, Cunard, Tradewind Voyages, and Riviera Travel have also announced UK cruises.
CTN editor Gary Peters wrote regarding the recent updates: “Obstacles still remain, of course, and the vaccination policies of some lines have not pleased everyone.
“Nonetheless, getting on a cruise ship is once more within reach for so many people across the country. Just typing that brings a huge smile to my face. Reading it should do the same.”
