Located on the sun-kissed coastline of the Algarve, Portimão is a colourful city with a bustling waterfront and a charming city centre decorated with parks and plazas. The Museum of Portimão, which traces human settlement in the area as far back as the Roman and Islamic periods, is the perfect stop for history buffs.
