HX joins CLIA to reinforce commitment to UK trade

HX (Hurtigruten Expeditions) has officially joined CLIA in the UK in a bid to reinforce its ongoing commitment to the trade

Nathaniel Sherborne, senior vice president Europe at HX, said the move reflects the line’s commitment to agents in the UK and highlights its ambition to further strengthen relationships across the cruise industry.

“As the number one expedition operator in the UK with our 130th anniversary on the horizon, this is a timely opportunity to deepen engagement, share our vision for responsible exploration, and collaborate with partners who are equally passionate about sustainable, experience-led travel,” he added.

Andy Harmer OBE, CLIA UK & Ireland managing director, said: “We are delighted to welcome HX as a CLIA member cruise line.

“They bring a wealth of expertise, innovation and a passion for exploration that will enrich the trade and wider cruise community.

“We look forward to working together to support agents, champion sustainable travel, and inspire even more travellers to discover the extraordinary experiences expedition cruising has to offer.”

The move comes as the line continues its journey to separate from its sister brand Hurtigruten. Earlier this year, the company introduced a new fleet livery to differentiate from the Norwegian coastal line.

The new palette takes inspiration from marine wildlife with colours such as pearl, sand and arctic white, so guests won’t get confused in places like Norway where the two brands co-exist.

The red and black colours previously used by the Hurtigruten Group have long been associated with Hurtigruten, which continues to use those colours and remains unchanged.
