Fred Olsen Cruise Lines is preparing to celebrate a “historic coming together” of its fleet.
The line’s three smaller ships, Bolette, Borealis and Balmoral, will all be sailing into Funchal, Madeira, for the Fleet in Funchal celebration on 9 November.
The trio will dock alongside each other, with a series of events taking place, including a treasure hunt around the city for guests, live music and competitions.
Guests will also have the opportunity to step aboard and explore all three ships, meet the crew and celebrate with fellow travellers.
The day will end with Bolette, Borealis and Balmoral sailing out of Funchal together.
Fred Olsen celebrating anniversary
Fred Olsen MD Peter Deer said: “This will be only the third time that our fleet has converged in one place, with the last event, Captains in Cadiz, taking place five years ago.
“This year marks the 175th anniversary of Fred Olsen’s start as a shipping company and we are delighted to be celebrating with this wonderful event in Funchal.
“Every single thing we have learnt over the past 175 years, goes into every single day of sailing with us, and this event will showcase everything that makes sailing with Fred Olsen special and unique.”
