VIVA Cruises

Sponsored by VIVA Cruises

From state-of-the-art wellness facilities and multiple dining options to all-inclusive packages and industry-leading sustainability credentials, VIVA Cruises is primed to give your customers a river holiday to remember

River cruising has evolved rapidly over the last few decades. What was once seen as a holiday only suitable for the over 70s is now gaining traction with younger cruisers looking to unearth the nooks and crannies of Europe’s most storied waterways.

At the forefront of this revolutionary movement is VIVA Cruises, buoyed by the renowned Swiss shipping company Scylla AG. With 10 river ships deployed across Europe, the line is well versed in helping guests create lifelong memories on vessels which go against the status quo of river cruising, with multiple dining options, no set meal times and holistic wellness offerings.

The line invites guests to experience the very best of Europe, the way it was meant to be discovered: with good company, unique perspectives and award-winning service and amenities.

Knowing that not all travellers are the same, VIVA Cruises has made it their mission to give customers greater ease, flexibility and choice across the Douro, Danube, Elbe, Moselle, Rhine, Rhône, Seine and the Main-Danube Canal.

In May 2026 VIVA will introduce a new boutique river cruise ship, VIVA Beyond, on the Seine, which will usher in a new boutique cruising proposition named VIVA Boutique.

The holistic concept, the line said, will combine the amenities of a boutique hotel with the experiences of a river cruise. The new addition will offer more suites than any other ship in the VIVA Cruises’ fleet and guests will be able to choose from twelve suites, four junior suites and, for the first time, ten spacious master suites.

The ship will debut with an eight-day cruise from Paris via Normandy to the Atlantic coast, and back to the French capital. It will offer three different itineraries focussed on the brand’s three core pillars – Culinary, Culture and Lifestyle and Impressionism, with an excursion programme to match.

Menus are Michelin-star chef curated and change with the seasons. The VIVA Bistro, one of three restaurants, will have a French flair both in décor and menu to match the Seine.

Highlighting even further its commitment to delivering exceptional experiences, European river cruise specialist, VIVA Cruises, recently welcomed its very own Master of Wine, internationally renowned wine expert, Romana Echensperger.

Echensperger is one of only a few Masters of Wine worldwide, as well a member of the prestigious Deutsche Lufthansa AG tasting team since 2023. Romana brings a wealth of expertise, passion and prestige to VIVA Cruises, and will be responsible for curating and redesigning the onboard wine selection, training crew members, and hosting exclusive wine events and themed cruises.

A key pillar to VIVA’s success is its commitment to sustainability. The company uses HVO and GTL fuel, which reduces emissions and promotes CO2 neutrality, and responsible route planning helps reduce sailing time.

Ship interiors are made largely from recycled materials and engines are switched off in many ports to use alternative shore power.
