It’s easy to casually state that cruise demand is strong, but when it comes to expedition cruising, perhaps Mundy Cruising sales and marketing director Alexander Loizou puts it best when he says that the “growth in expedition cruising has been phenomenal, particularly in attracting new-to-cruise-guests”.
Part of the appeal to the new-to-cruise segment is the drive to use expedition voyages as a force for good for the natural world, as opposed to simply another holiday experience, which is demonstrated in our investigation article.
Aurora Expeditions UK & Ireland MD Jos Dewing also explains how the line is using its expedition expertise to protect the environment, stating: “Our mission is to have our passengers disembark knowing far more than when they set out, returning home as true ambassadors of the regions we have taken them to.”
Also in this supplement, we speak to Silversea UK & Ireland managing director Peter Shanks, and take a look at a selection of new expedition ships set to launch next year.
