About Ushuaia

The preferred port for sailing to Antarctica, via the Drake Passage, is a former Argentine penal colony home to many fascinating museums, such as one dedicated to the birds and nature the Tierra del Fuego National Park, and the Museo Maritimo y Presidio de Ushuaia, which examines the region’s seafaring history. Cruise ships usually dock in the centre of town, where a host of restaurants serve appealing traditional Fuegian dishes.
