Cruise Trade News is urging its readers and the wider travel sector to support the #SaveTravel campaign and take part in a “Twitterstorm” on Thursday (8 October).
At 10am on Thursday, the industry is being urged to all post the same tweet, aimed at the transport secretary, Grant Shapps.
The move is designed to drive home the message regarding the urgent need for sector-specific support for travel and a better solution than the current travel corridor announcements.
Copy the below text and paste it into a tweet from your personal or business Twitter account. The tweet reads:
90,000 jobs already lost/at risk, only 6 countries without restrictions – the UK travel industry is collapsing in front of your eyes @grantshapps. Enough is enough. Where is the sector specific support? The airport testing? Why won’t you #SaveTravel? #SaveFutureTravel #Test4Travel
CTN would also like to urge people to retweet with the hashtag #onetravelindustry, to further demonstrate that the industry is speaking with one voice.
The #SaveTravel effort was created by TTG but has now morphed into an industry-wide campaign.
