Celebrity Cruises updates vaccine and testing protocols

Celebrity Cruises updates vaccine and testing protocols. Celebrity Edge

Celebrity Cruises is introducing new health and safety protocols for guests sailing from US and European ports.

The line will remove vaccination requirements and simplify testing guidelines.

Effective from 5 September 2022, all guests, regardless of vaccination status, departing on most sailings from the US and Europe, will be able to sail as long as they meet local testing requirements to board.

Celebrity Cruises will accept any commercially available test, including unsupervised self-tests, in many destinations.

Vaccinated guests will no longer need to test to board sailings from the US that are nine nights or less (excluding sailings that visit Canada and Bermuda).

Children under five years of age sailing from the US and guests under 12 sailing from Europe will not need to test prior to boarding.

Sailings to and from ports in Canada, Australia and New Zealand will still require all guests aged 12 and up to be fully vaccinated to sail, in line with country requirements.

Meanwhile, Galapagos cruises require guests aged three and older to be vaccinated.

Celebrity Cruises president and CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo said: “A new world is waiting and I’m thrilled to now more closely align our operations with the rest of the travel industry and open up opportunities for everyone to explore, once again.

“Travel is making its grand comeback and we’re looking forward to the continued momentum from consumers around the world.”

Other cruise lines, including Royal Caribbean International and Carnival Cruise Line, has also recently amended their respective health and safety measures.
