Celebrity Cruises’ new ‘Adventure Index’ published to coincide with expanded Ben Fogle’s Great Adventures excursion collection

New research from Celebrity Cruises shows a third of Brits (31 per cent) do something adventurous just once a year or less and nearly one in ten (9 per cent) confess to never seeking an adventure at all. However, Celebrity Cruises’ new ‘Adventure Index’, published today, reveals that over half (53 per cent) try to fit in an adventure at least a few times a year and for seven per cent of thrill-hungry Brits, adventure has to be an everyday occurrence. The results reveal a generational divide, with millennials the most likely to seek daily adventure and baby boomers most likely to be less adventurous.

The study, conducted among 2005 UK adults, found that nearly two-thirds (59 per cent) of respondents identified ‘travelling to new destinations’ as a source of excitement. However, one in every seven (15 per cent) describe new videos from a favourite YouTuber as a source of excitement and one in five (19 per cent) aged 18-34 say following celebrities or influencers’ adventures on social media is exciting.
