Camila and Matthew McConaughey named godparents of Star Princess
Princess Cruises has announced that Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila will be godparents of Star Princess
The couple, who are co-founders of alcohol brand Pantalones Tequila, will officially christen the ship ahead of its debut on 4 October.
Star Princess, sister to Sun Princess, will carry 4,300 guests and offer 30 dining and bar venues, plus a wide range of entertainment and activity options. The McConaughey’s tequila brand will feature on board as part of Princess’ Love Line Premium Liquors collection.

Star Princess will sail the Mediterranean with a roundtrip itinerary from Barcelona. The ship will then cross the Atlantic to begin a season of Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale, starting 7 November 2025. After the Caribbean sailings, it will transit the Panama Canal and head west for its first Alaska season.
A highlight is The Sanctuary Collection, a private, adults-only area which includes an exclusive restaurant, pool deck, and premium amenities.
