The Barrhead Travel Group says it has already beaten its best sales day from 2024 with Saturday 11 January breaking new records for the Scotland-based agency

Sales officially overtook last year’s Back to the Floor day, which was the group’s best performing sales day in 2024, with cruises from Southampton registering in the top five holidays sold so far.

Meanwhile, Barrhead’s Brilliant Travel division has reported weekend sales spikes of 24 per cent for its Managed Service Travel Partners (MSTPs) and 55 per cent for its homeworking division.

Branches across Barrhead’s retail network are reporting strong footfall, particularly across the weekend, with top destinations including Tenerife, Mallorca, Lanzarote, Turkey and cruising from Southampton.

Jacqueline Dobson, president of Barrhead Travel, said: “We’re off a good start this January with demand already overtaking last year. People getting back to a normal work and school routine has kick-started the usual January rush for holidays.

“As we reach the halfway point in the month, it’s incredible to already have a record sales day under our belts. We’re expecting more of the same as the month progresses and we continue to firm up our customers’ plans.”

The ongoing growth of the cruise sector in 2024 helped Barrhead Travel close in on a second successive record-breaking booking year, with Dobson saying its cruise business was up 13 per cent year-on-year.
