Azamara plans August restart with seven-day sailings from Greece

Azamara plans to resume operations from 28 August with a series of cruises from Greece.

The line will run five back-to-back Country Intensive Voyages and one classic Mediterranean sailing, each seven days in length, on Azamara Quest.

Itineraries, which go on sale on 11 May 2021, include total of 18 late-night stays in destinations such as Santorini, Rhodes and Heraklion, Greece.

Azamara confirmed that all guests and crew will need to be fully vaccinated no later than 14 days prior to departure. The line plans to reveal additional health and safety measures once Quest’s sailings go on sale.

President Carol Cabezas said: “Over the past year, our team – ship to shoreside – continued to connect with our guests and travel partners.

“Our biggest takeaway is the desire everyone has to sail again, and we are excited to share that we can finally make this dream come true.

“There’s no better way to return to service than in a country Azamara knows best, Greece. Our return to sail wouldn’t be possible without the support from Honourable Minister Harry Theoharis, the local government and port authorities, and we are extremely grateful for welcoming us back into this beautiful and culturally rich destination.”

Theoharis added: “We’re looking forward to welcoming Azamara and its guests in Greece in August.

“We fully support the line’s return to cruising in the Aegean waters and we are sure that all of its passengers will have unique experiences in our beautiful destinations.”

Previously scheduled Azamara Quest sailings through to 2 October 2021 have been suspended, while cruises on Azamara Journey and Azamara Pursuit have been suspended until September 2021.

The line said that guests impacted by summer suspensions will be “offered a number of flexible options to rebook or request refunds for current reservations”.

Guests can also still take advantage of the line’s cruise with confidence programme, which offers “flexibility for fully paid reservations booked by 31 May 2021 for sailings through 30 April 2022”.
