The latest ship in the APT fleet, Mekong Serenity, has departed on its maiden voyage.

It is currently undertaking its first sailing of the 15-day Vietnam & Cambodia Highlights river cruise from Hanoi to Siem Reap.

To celebrate the launch, APT & Travelmarvel has launched a new Vietnam and Cambodia winter sale, allowing guests to secure a Q4 2023 or Q1 2024 Mekong cruise with a deposit of £99, and outstanding introductory savings on all December to February departures, when booked before 30 November 2023.

The sale includes the 12 January 2024 departure of the Vietnam & Cambodia Highlights cruise, from Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap, which costs from £4,995pp, saving £2,050pp.

APT offering ‘five-star ship at four-star prices’

Also on offer is the 20 January 2024 departure of APT Travelmarvel’s 14-day Essential Vietnam & Cambodia river cruise, from Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap.

This comes in at £3,195 per person, saving £2,000. The price includes return flights and seven nights aboard the RV Apsara, which has moved from APT to sail under the Travelmarvel banner and “offer a five-star ship at a four-star price”, a statement said.

The 88-guest Mekong Serenity features “some of the largest entry-level suites of any vessel cruising the Mekong”, APT said.

On board, there is the Serenity Spa and Wellness Centre, while dining options include the Horizon Bar & Grill, and the Indochine restaurant.

Earlier this month (September), APT & Travelmarvel appointed David Winterton as sales marketing lead.

The operator has also outlined plans to grow its agency sales team, with recruitment underway for a national sales manager role and additions to its phone-based trade support and customer service team.
