American Queen Voyages partners with Rocky Mountaineer

American Queen Voyages has partnered with Rocky Mountaineer to offer a pre and post-cruise luxury rail package for the inaugural season of Ocean Victory.

Travelling through the Canadian Rockies between Calgary and Vancouver, the add-on option will be available for six sailings between May to September 2022.

Highlights of the Landscapes & Luxury Rocky Mountaineer City Stay Package include a two-day Rocky Mountaineer train experience with GoldLeaf Service, hotel stay in Banff, Kamloops, and two nights in Vancouver.

An additional hotel night in Calgary and a full day sightseeing tour from Calgary to Banff, will also be available on the pre-cruise package. Prices start from $3,799pp.

The line’s chief operating officer Shawn Bierdz said: “The inaugural expedition season of Ocean Victory in Alaska, made even more special with the Rocky Mountaineer programme, is a magnificent add-on to our new expedition experience.

“This partnership is a wonderful way to kick off American Queen Voyages’ 10th anniversary year, combining the adventure of expedition cruising in Alaska and the romance of rail travel through the Canadian Rockies.”

Rocky Mountaineer sales MD Jonathan Hope added: “We are thrilled to add American Queen Voyages as a cruise partner, offering our iconic luxury rail journeys through the Canadian Rockies to their guests.

“Rocky Mountaineer journeys are the perfect complement to an Alaska cruise, offering guests views of breathtaking scenery while enjoying delicious cuisine, friendly service, interesting storytelling and the social atmosphere from our luxury glassdome trains.”

The 186-guest Ocean Victory will sail between Vancouver and Sitka, Alaska, on 13-day journeys and “feature ports of call that larger ships cannot access”, according to American Queen Voyages.

Earlier in 2022, American Queen Voyages appointed Peter Szyszka to lead all expedition experiences for the cruise line.
