AmaWaterways promises advance payment on agent commissions

AmaWaterways, AmaMagna

AmaWaterways has announced that it will be paying agents an advance on their commission when they make a new booking on 2021 European sailings.

The Book Now, Earn Now concept means agents will earn £135 per guest the moment they collect the deposit, as an advance on their commission.

The initiative is in conjunction with the line’s Peace of Mind Promise, which gives guests the opportunity to amend, postpone or cancel their booking up to 24 hours before travel.

Both initiatives are valid on 2021 European river cruise departures (excluding the Douro) booked between now and the 30 November 2020.

AmaWaterways UK managing director Jamie Loizou said: “As a 100 per cent trade focused business, it’s vitally important that we support our travel agent partners and work together through this challenging time.

“We know that agents have seen their income severely impacted in recent months and we have been looking at ways in which we can help. So, we are introducing two initiatives – one for agents and one for guests – which work in tandem.

“We believe our Peace of Mind Promise will give guests the confidence to commit to future travel and Book Now, Earn Now will provide our trade partners with some much-needed financial support.”

In September, AmaWaterways also announced it had expanded its 2021 no-fly river cruise options.

An additional 11 itineraries are now offered with rail connections from the UK, meaning guests who wish to travel by train can now choose from a total of 15 cruises along the Rhine, Moselle, French rivers and Dutch and Belgian waterways.

Loizou added: “We have seen huge uplift in demand for no-fly options in 2021. Rail access to the continent is quick and easy and with direct trains to many of our departure points, getting to the ship has never been easier.

“Given such strong demand, we felt the time was right to roll out an expanded programme with a wide range of options for our guests to choose from.”
