Following the government’s decision to add Portugal to the life of ‘quarantine-free’ countries, A-Rosa has launched some attractive offers in the region.
Hoping to get more people booking river cruises, the German cruise line has launched a ‘buy one, get one free’ cruise offer on selected Douro sailings.
With Portugal now okay for British nationals to travel to, A-Rosa also has a ‘buy one, get one half price’ offer on a host of other sailings on the same river.
Travellers will have to act fast, as the select sailings for both offers depart in September and October this year.
Prices start at just £690 per person with the ‘one free’ saving applied. A-Rosa Douro river cruises usually go for around €1,000.
A spokesperson for the cruise line said: “These new cruise-only offers are ideal for those agents who choose to package up A-Rosa cruise only fares with flights to Porto and transfers to the ship.”
Travellers will be able to book seven-night Duoro sailings on board the cruise line’s newest ship, A-Rosa Alva, which depart from Porto on Wednesdays.
Itineraries often include trips to Spain, with excursions in Salamanca, but these have now been replaced with a trip to Castelo Rodrigo in Portugal.
The replacement is due to British travellers having to quarantine upon their return to the UK from Spain.
As a direct result of the Coronavirus pandemic, A-Rosa has had to suspend the launch of its new E-motion cruise ship until 2022.
The new ship was originally set to launch in spring 2021, but due to disruption with the supply chain, the ship is now due to launch in March 2022.
The yet-to-be-named E-motion ship is currently under construction at the Severnav shipyard, Romania. Following the constriction, the interior will be completed at the Concordia Damen shipyard in the Netherlands. A first for A-Rosa, the ship will feature hybrid technology, allowing the ship to switch to battery power and reduce emissions.
