A-Rosa Sena celebrates one-year anniversary

A-Rosa Sena

A-Rosa River Cruises’ newest ship, A-Rosa Sena, has celebrated its first anniversary of sailing.

Since its maiden voyage on the northern Rhine, the ship has departed Cologne more than 40 times using a hybrid propulsion system that enables battery powered, emission free sailing for up to 45 minutes when sailing into and out of ports.

In addition, since its launch more than 650 children have sailed on board, with “many more expected as this season continues”, a statement said.

The ship features family cabins sleeping up to five, a dedicated kids’ club and a separate children’s pool on the sundeck.

A-Rosa Sena ‘sets standard’ for the future

A-Rosa UK and Ireland MD Lucia Rowe said:“A-Rosa Sena is unlike anything seen before on the rivers of Europe and sets the standard for our next generation of ships.

“She has had an incredible year already and her unrivalled sustainability credentials show how serious we are on our journey towards protecting the destinations and rivers we sail through.

“In the last year, guests of all ages have been enjoying all her unique facilities, many of which have never been seen on a river cruise ship before.

“It’s amazing that over 650 children have been introduced to river cruising on board A-Rosa Sena and with the key school holidays approaching, this number will just continue to grow.”

A-Rosa Sena visits cities such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht and Dordrecht, and also offers festive sailings and themed cruises in March and November.
