Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection has launched a new dedicated Family River Cruise Collection brochure which unveils eleven new family-friendly departures in 2016, cruising the Rhine, Danube, Seine and Po rivers.
The brochure can be downloaded from the Uniworld website uniworld.com.
The cruise line has more than tripled the number of family-friendly cruise departures for its 2016 programme, from five to sixteen.
All nine family-friendly European itineraries feature fun and interactive onboard experiences. Children can try their hand at dessert making with the ship’s pastry chef, take a VIP behind-the-scenes tour with the Captain, taste local soft drinks with the resident Soda Sommelier or take part in craft workshops and fun local language classes. The Young Travellers Lounge, available on all multigenerational Uniworld ships, is complete with a PlayStation, a selection of games, movies and jars of sweets. Every family-friendly cruise itinerary also features onboard visits from local children or teens who introduce guests to the daily life of their culture.
Kathryn Beadle, managing director of Uniworld UK, said: “A river cruise is a great way to give younger generations an insight into different cultures as they travel to new cities, quaint villages and traditional towns on a truly memorable holiday. All age groups can enjoy the leisurely pace of a Uniworld river cruise and enjoy the variety of onboard entertainment and onshore excursions which have been specially designed with families in mind.”
The 2016 multigenerational programme includes six new and three existing family-friendly European itineraries, each offering a selection of great family excursions.
The 10 day Delightful Danube & Prague and Danube Discovery & Prague itineraries both include a white water rafting trip on the River Ilz in Germany and scenic bike riding along the Danube. Children have an onshore excursion to an amusement park in Franconia on the 10 day Rhine Discovery & Prague and 15 day Grand European Discovery.
Uniworld have reimagined their Italian cruise itineraries in 2016 and also added six family-friendly departures. The 10 day Gems of Northern Italy features a hands-on pasta making workshop in Bologna and the 15 day Splendours of Italy gives children the opportunity to learn how to be a Roman fighter at Gladiator School and join a spooky ghost walking tour in Venice.
Departures for the magical 8 day Castles along the Rhine, 8 day Paris & Normandy and festive 8 day Classic Christmas Markets cruise are available once again, now featured in the all-new 2016 family-friendly programme.
Kids aged 4 years – 18 years will cruise for half-price (excluding port charges).
