When it launches on April 8 Koningsdam will be Europe’s newest ship for 2016. The 2,650-passenger vessel heralds a new class of ship for HAL, known as Pinnacle Class. With light-filled spaces and curves inspired by musical instruments, Koningsdam will spend the summer season in Europe and the Mediterranean, followed by winter in the Caribbean. The name is synonymous with style, and Cunard’s flagship will look better than ever following a dry dock from May 27 to June 21. The facelift will include 15 single cabins – a first for Queen Mary 2 – and 30 more Britannia Club Balcony staterooms. Six 1,000 square foot owners’ suites showcasing a fresh, contemporary design will provide luxe-loving passengers with plenty of room to spread out when Sirena enters service on April 27. Oceania’s latest 684-guest ship will undergo a $40 million, 35-day dry dock prior to its debut for the line and will sail on Mediterranean and Caribbean itineraries during its inaugural season.
