Iglu.com senior vice-president for global supply Simone Clark has announced she is stepping down after 19 years at the agency.

Clark, who will leave the company this summer, said the move had “been planned for a while” and she was looking forward to spending “more time at home”.

Iglu.com CEO David Gooch said: “Simone has been an incredible asset to the Iglu business, notably her contribution to the launch of Iglu Cruise and growing it to become Europe’s leading cruise OTA.

“She is widely recognised as one of the most influential figures in the industry and she will be sorely missed around the business. We wish her well in her future endeavours.”

Clark added: “This has been planned for a while, as I had already stepped back to a less operational role.

“I love Iglu, but I want to spend less time travelling and some more time at home. I intend to enjoy a few months off and then will definitely make a return to the industry in some capacity.

“I’d like to thank my colleagues at Iglu and Planet Cruise, all the cruise line partners, and everyone in the cruise industry for making the journey so much fun over the years.

“A particular highlight for me was winning the award for outstanding contribution to the UK cruise industry from CLIA.”
