SeaDream Yacht Club to accept cryptocurrency as payment

SeaDream Yacht Club

SeaDream Yacht Club is now accepting cryptocurrency as a payment option for all voyages

Effective immediately, guests can book voyages to the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Norway, and Northern Europe using Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and more than 200 of the most frequently used cryptocurrencies.

SeaDream said it will use payment platform Coinbase Commerce to ensure “secure, reliable and efficient” payment processing.

“SeaDream has always been an innovator, setting new standards in luxury travel. By accepting cryptocurrency, we are embracing a payment solution that is increasingly sought after by our guests,” said Andreas Brynestad of SeaDream Yacht Club.

The line is also implementing a digital payment solution for cryptocurrency on its website. The option will be fully integrated in the current booking system and is expected to roll out over the coming weeks.

“This underscores our commitment to staying ahead of emerging trends. For us, crypto is the natural next step forward,” added Brynestad.

The company will also accept cryptocurrencies as payment for full-yacht charters. “The ability to use cryptocurrency further adds to the convenience and flexibility of our discerning charter guests, eliminating currency exchange challenges and enabling seamless transactions,” said Brynestad.

SeaDream becomes the second cruise line to roll out cryptocurrency pricing, after Virgin Voyages confirmed its new Annual Pass booking option could be purchased with Bitcoin.
