Iglu reports 120% increase in searches for transatlantic cruises

Summary

  • Iglu has recorded a 120 per cent increases in searches for transatlantic crossings
  • The agency attributed the uptick to the growing trend of slow travel

Iglu has identified transatlantic crossings as a growing trend after reporting a 120 per cent increase in searches

The agency said it saw a 120 per cent uptick in transatlantic searches in September this year compared to the same month in 2025.

Iglu suggested a growing desire for slow travel has driven the increase, suggesting passengers are "prioritising relaxation to avoid the burnout and fatigue that can sometimes accompany long-haul travel".

Dave Mills, chief commercial officer, said: "We're seeing increased demand for transatlantic crossings. These unique sailings offer the opportunity to visit destinations such as the US and Canada without having to fly.

"Many passengers enjoy embarking from right here in the UK, with sailings from Southampton available year-round. Popular cruise lines include Cunard, Norwegian Cruise Line and P&O Cruises.

"What's more, some of our most popular transatlantic sailings go both ways, you can do a back-to-back crossing with a day in New York or sail a 30-night Caribbean voyage crossing both ways with no need to fly."
