Royal Caribbean Group to build seventh Oasis class ship
Royal Caribbean Group has entered into an agreement with French shipbuilder Chantiers de l’Atlantique to order a seventh Oasis class ship
Slated to join the Royal Caribbean fleet in 2028, the vessel follows RCG’s recent introduction of three new ships including Silver Nova, Celebrity Ascent and Icon of the Seas.
“While we eagerly anticipate the debut of Utopia of the Seas this summer, we’re already dreaming up her sister ship and the next installation in the brand’s extremely popular Oasis class,” said Jason Liberty, president and chief executive of RCG.
“Across our three brands, we are focused on continuously challenging ourselves to deliver the ultimate vacation experience.”
Royal Caribbean to launch sixth Oasis class ship in July
Michael Bayley, president and chief executive of Royal Caribbean International, added: “These are exciting times, and we have an incredible partner in Chantiers de l’Atlantique to bring to life the lucky seventh Oasis class vessel of what is a remarkable class of ships.”
This order is contingent upon financing, which is expected to be completed later this year. Royal’s sixth Oasis class ship, Utopia of the Seas, is due to launch in July 2024.
It comes after world football superstar Lionel Messi joined Bayley and Liberty for Icon of the Seas’ official naming ceremony last month.
