Princess to boost trade support with new national training manager

Mike Pack, Princess Cruises

Princess Cruises has appointed Mike Pack as its new national training and engagement manager, a newly created position introduced to boost the line’s trade support strategy across the UK, Ireland and Europe

With more than 15 years of experience in the global cruise industry, including leadership roles at Carnival Cruise Line, Pack brings experience in training, engagement and brand representation.

His appointment comes following the departure of UK and Europe sales director Hayley Moore, who joined Norwegian coastal operator Hurtigruten last week as its new vice president of sales and marketing.

In the new role, Pack will lead the development of a national training and engagement strategy, delivering live and digital programmes tailored to the needs of the line’s trade partners. He will also represent Princess at trade shows, roadshows, and events, acting as a brand ambassador and strengthening relationships across the region.

Eithne Williamson, vice president Princess Cruises UK and Europe, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Mike to the Princess Cruises team. His experience, and passion for the cruise industry make him a wonderful fit for this new role.

“We know how important it is for our travel partners to feel supported and confident when selling Princess, and Mike’s appointment is a clear signal of our continued investment in the trade.”

Pack added: “I’m delighted to be joining Princess Cruises at such an exciting time. I’ve always believed in the power of great training and meaningful engagement, and I’m looking forward to working closely with our travel partners to help them feel inspired, informed, and ready to grow their Princess business.”

Last month the line announced that Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila will be godparents of Star Princess. The couple, who are also co-founders of alcohol brand Pantalones Tequila, christened the ship ahead of its debut on 4 October.

Star, sister to Sun Princess, carries 4,300 guests and offers 30 dining and bar venues, plus a range of entertainment and activity options. The McConaughey’s tequila brand will feature on board as part of Princess’ Love Line Premium Liquors collection
