Havila Voyages has been forced to delay another sailing due to technical issues.
On Monday (4 December), a problem was discovered on board coastal cruise ship Havila Castor, which is currently docked in Ã…lesund.
The line said the issue needs to be resolved before the ship can continue its journey northbound along its coastal route.
As a result, the departure from Ã…lesund is delayed, and the ports Molde, Kristiansund and Trondheim will be cancelled. Havila will provide updates as soon as more information is available.
Delays due to technical faults ongoing problem for Havila
It’s the second time this year the line has been forced to cancel a sailing due to technical faults, having called off a northern Europe itinerary on board Havila Pollux in October after the vessel encountered problems en route to Trondheim.
The line said the ship suffered issues with one of its on board electric motors, which needed to be replaced before it could continue its onward journey northbound.
Pollux restarted its route from Trondheim on 7 November – a week after it was delayed – following completion of warranty work at Fosen Shipyard to replace an electric motor.
At the start of the year, the launch of Pollux and Havila Polaris were delayed, which the line said had a knock on effect to its Q3 revenues in a recent trading update covering the three months to 30 September.
