G Adventures to double polar offering with new Arctic season

Expedition Cruise Network

G Adventures has announced plans to double its small-ship polar expedition portfolio with the relaunch of its Arctic programme

The move comes ahead of the launch of the operator’s new Antarctica expedition ship this October.

The product expansion, slated for a July launch, will see G Adventures return to the Arctic for the first time since 2019, with further expeditions across the Arctic circle and the Scottish Isles set to debut in the coming weeks.

“This is huge news for us,” said G Adventures founder Bruce Poon Tip. “Our travellers and agent partners have been asking when we will return to the Arctic and I’m delighted to say the time is now.

“We’ve been leading the way in small-ship expeditions for over 25 years and, in true G style, we’re not only going back – we’re going beyond – with the addition of completely new itineraries, packed with wildlife and natural history.

“These feature some of the most dramatic and beautiful coastlines around the Scottish coastline, resulting in our most comprehensive and varied expedition programme in G Adventures’ history.”

Poon Tip said the company’s expedition product has “always been a huge selling opportunity” for agents, as more travellers seek the advice of experts when sailing to remote destinations.

He advised the trade to experience the company’s polar product to boost their knowledge and secure more sales.

“There’s a lot more pie to go around with this new product coming to market, and our teams are poised and ready to work hand-in-hand with agents to help them get a slice of that pie,” he added.

Four new Arctic itineraries, offering ten departures, are now available to book – including the eight-day Realm of the Polar Bear cruise and 15-day Arctic Highlights sailing.

The new product follows the announcement of G Adventures’ new ship, which will take 128 guests to Antarctica from October 2025, before sailing north to Europe and the Arctic next spring.
