G Adventure sets sail on a Norwegian adventure

G Adventures has launched a Norwegian cruise programme for 2017 in response to demand for voyages around the fjords.

The cruises are on the company’s 134-passenger ship Expedition and start with a 14-night voyage from Edinburgh to Tromsø that visits the Shetland and Orkney Islands before reaching Norway and sailing up the coast from Bergen.

G AdventureThere are port calls including Flåm, Olden, Geiranger and Trondheim, and a day at the North Cape, the most northerly point in Europe. There will also be a Zodiac excursion to see the rock formations at Torghatten and the Treana archipelago. From £2,592 per person cruise-only based on sharing a four-berth cabin.

From Tromsø, Expedition will head back to Bergen on an eight-night voyage departing May 24 2017 that visits the Lofoten Islands, Torghatten and Trondheim.

Departing Bergen on May 31, Expedition heads back to Tromsø, but skipping G Adventuresthe North Cape and instead sailing north to Spitsbergen and the realm of the polar bear. Weather-permitting, there’ll be a Zodiac cruise around Bear Island, which is home to thousands of sea birds.

This cruise is 15 days and costs from £2,974 per person cruise-only based on sharing a four-berth cabin. Twin rooms start from £4,674 per person.
