Fred Olsen Cruise Lines has named Michelle Tingley as brand training manager, a new position for the cruise line.
Tingley, who has been with Fred Olsen for six years, most recently as specialist sales account manager, will deliver training to the trade, working closely with agencies at regional, branch and homeworking levels and alongside Fred Olsen’s account managers and trade marketing team.
Tingley said: “I am delighted to become Fred Olsen’s dedicated brand training manager.
“The role will complement all the great work the sales and marketing team are already doing, while allowing us to delve deeper with our trade partners to showcase what makes Fred Olsen special, what we offer and help them to match us to their customers who will want to return to us – and them – time and again.
“I feel passionately about the experiences our smaller ships allow us to offer our guests, both on board and ashore, and I can’t wait to share more on this with our agents and help bring the Olsen Way to life.”
Fred Olsen to ‘tailor’ agent training
Head of sales Geoff Ridgeon added: “Michelle has been an integral part of our sales team here at Fred Olsen for a number of years, and I am so pleased to share this news of her new appointment today.
“By creating this new role dedicated solely to training, we will be able to curate and tailor our programmes to suit each agency’s needs, allowing us to reach more frontline agents and share more about who we are, what we do and why we do it.
“Michelle has already brought so much energy and passion to the role, along with a wealth of knowledge on our product and the Olsen Way, and we can’t wait to work with our many trade partners over the coming months and beyond.”
Fred Olsen recently unveiled two 2023 summer itineraries, sailing to the Adriatic and Arctic, and reported that sales in January 2022 had returned to pre-pandemic levels.
