Emerald Waterways is adding two new ships next year.
The Emerald Liberté will sail on the Rhône and Saône rivers in France, while the Emerald Radiance will be dedicated to a new itinerary on the Douro river in Portugal.
The news Star-Ships will bring Emerald Waterways’ total fleet to seven and will be smaller versions of the original design, in order to navigate the rivers’ structures.
The Emerald Liberté will carry 138 guests in 70 suites and staterooms, while the Emerald Radiance will have capacity for 112 guests in 56 suites and staterooms, both with a 3-to-1 guest-crew ratio.
Emerald Liberté will have the signature onboard heated pool with a retractable roof that transforms into a cinema in the evening. The Emerald Radiance will not have a cinema and the pool will be on the top deck.
Guests on the Douro will visit Porto, the Roman settlement of Regua and in Spain – Vega de Terron and Salamanca.
The Emerald Liberté will travel from Lyon to Arles passing through Chalon-Sur-Saone, Tournon and Avignon.
Launch offers for the seven-night sailings will start at £1,595 per person for the Douro and £1,595 per person for the Rhône and Saône, both with 30 departure dates, subject to availability and for bookings made before April 30 2016.
