About Acapulco

Mexico’s most famous resort was dubbed the Pearl of the Pacific when it attracted the rich and famous in the 1950s, including Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland. Today, remnants of this glamour can still be found in the Hotel Los Flamingos. Elsewhere, the daredevil cliff divers, or clavadistas, thrill visitors by day and after dark there is a dazzling nightlife. The old town square is an atmospheric spot to listen to live music and watch street performers.
