Cunard has announces Scottish chef for British Isles Culinary Discovery

Cunard has announced Scottish chef, Nick Nairn will join guests on board the first British Isles Culinary Discovery later this year.

The 12-night cruise on board Queen Elizabeth (June 23 – July 5) will explore the regional delicacies in and around the British Isles including England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, whilst celebrating Cunard’s  cuisine and White Star service.

Nick Nairn, TV personality and owner of Nick Nairn Cook Schools became the first Scottish chef to be awarded a Michelin Star in 1991. With a passion for teaching, and Scotland’s rich ‘natural larder,’ guests will be treated to an in-depth talk and cooking demonstration on the art of Scottish cuisine.

“As a Scottish chef this is a fantastic opportunity for me to show people what amazing produce we have in Scotland. Of course Cunard is renowned for its excellent food, and I’m delighted to be part of the team that is going to take that heritage and just to push it that little step further.” said Nairn.

Joining him during the 12-night cruise will be experts from the world of gastronomy, Charles Sichel of Maison Sichel, the first merchant and producer in Bordeaux to build its own winery in 1967, and Jilly Goolden, English Wine Critic and UK television personality. Together with the on board expert chefs and sommeliers, guests will have food demonstrations and dinners showcasing  selected food and wine pairings.

British Isles Culinary Discovery –  a Britannia Balcony Stateroom is £1,999 pp when booked with a Cunard Fare before February 29 2016, the same price as an Inside Stateroom as part of our ‘Upgrade on Us’ campaign.
