Cruise veteran Jo Rzymowska named in 101 most influential LGBTQ trailblazers

Jo Rzymowska to step down from Celebrity Cruises

Cruise industry stalwart Jo Rzymowska has been named in Attitude Magazine‘s 2024 list of the 101 most influential LGBTQ trailblazers

Rzymowska said: “I am so honoured to be named on the 2024 Attitude 101 list, and humbled to be celebrated alongside the most influential LGBTQ+ trailblazers of the moment.

“Congratulations to all those listed across industries, from unsung community heroes to rising stars in art and culture.”

Rzymowska, who joined Hays Travel as a non-executive director last October, was formerly Celebrity Cruises vice president and managing director EMEA.

It is her first role since she stepped down from Celebrity in July 2023, intent on applying her years of experience to support businesses and individuals.

She began her cruise career in 2005 as UK and Ireland sales and marketing director for Royal Caribbean Group.

She then joined Celebrity in 2015 as UK & Ireland VP and MD, before being tasked with overseeing all of the EMEA region for the brand in 2019.

During her time in the industry, Rzymowska launched numerous ships, including Legend of the Seas – the first UK-based Royal Caribbean ship – and, most recently, Celebrity Beyond in Southampton.

A statement at the time added Celebrity’s business in the region had nearly doubled during Rzymowska’s tenure, and she also oversaw the brand’s elevation into the luxury market.

She also served on the CLIA UK & Ireland board for many years, including as board chair from 2011-2013.
