About MS Lord Tennyson

One of the most famous and distinguished poets of the Victorian era, Alfred, Lord Tennyson was Poet Laureate for over 40 years, with well-known works comprising ‘The Charge of the Light Brigade’ and ‘Ulysses’. We are honoured to announce that the MS Lord Tennyson will be joining the Riviera Travel fleet in 2021. As with all of our river cruisers, the 135-metre MS Lord Tennyson is being built to the finest specifications and strict safety regulations by Scylla AG, world-renowned builders of the most contemporary river cruise ships in Europe.

Accommodation

There are 88 beautifully appointed cabins and suites, which all feature an en suite bathroom with shower, individually controlled air-conditioning, flat-screen TV, hairdryer, safe, minibar, telephone and facilities for making tea and coffee. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the ship. 

Diamond Deck Deluxe Balcony Suite

For the ultimate in space and river cruise luxury, the spacious Deluxe Balcony Suite offers a generous living area with chairs and table, plus soft cotton bathrobes and slippers. There are floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass doors that open out on to a small balcony with a table for two. Not forgetting the tea and coffee making facilities and the spacious ensuite bathroom complete with towels and toiletries.

Take in unparalleled views as you glide along the best rivers in Europe from the sun deck. On the MS Lord Tennyson, there is a comfortable seating area with plenty of outdoor chairs and sun loungers, in the sun and in the shade. Try your luck on the putting green or cool off in the splash pool with a refreshing drink from the bar.

Observation lounge and bar on the Diamond Deck with panoramic windows for breathtaking views.

Enjoy incredible views from a cosy armchair or sofa in the panoramic observation lounge, with stylish floor-to-ceiling windows. 

There is a 24-hour self-service station for tea and coffee.

Bar & Terrace

During the evenings, sip on a drink from the bar as the ship pianist entertains with a relaxing repertoire, or escape to the bistro at the rear of the ship and enjoy a peaceful read on the terrace.

Main Restaurant

Main restaurant on the Ruby Deck, with tables laid for up to six guests, serving buffet breakfast, buffet lunch and dinner.

The modern and spacious main restaurant offers an intimate yet relaxed fine dining experience with informal free seating. Guests are spoilt for choice with a range of delicious and fresh buffets at breakfast and lunch, as well as sumptuous four-course dinners executed with five-star service. 

Bistro

Bistro on the Diamond Deck, with panoramic windows and al fresco seating, serving early-bird breakfast, light lunch and dinner

Excursions

On their river cruise holidays Riviera Travel love to take you right into the heart of each town or city you visit a long the way, and either your tour manager or a local guide will offer a variety of guided walking tours, panoramic coach tours and/or visits to museums and local cultural favourites such as a wine tasting in Burgundy and a train journey through the Swiss mountains. You will have a good mix of touring and free time to learn about the history and the little quirks of each place, with plenty of time to explore at your own leisure.
