A magnificent presence on the Mekong river, Aqua Mekong showcases modern architecture and interiors by renowned architect Noor Design. The Mekong river cruise ship’s 20 spacious, air-conditioned suites feature full-length windows that offer spectacular panoramas of the ever-changing Mekong scenery. Aqua Mekong also received the coveted Gold Award in the Architecture/New Build category in the 2015 Asia Hotel Design Awards.

As the Aqua Mekong charts a luxurious passage across Cambodia and Vietnam, on-board guests embark on an inspiring journey of local flavors with a dining experience crafted by Michelin-starred consulting chef David Thompson. The ship’s bar menu, created by renowned spirit experts and cocktail designers Proof & Co, echoes a similar locally-minded philosophy.

Aqua Mekong guarantees utmost safety, comfort, and exclusivity for off-shore excursions, as Aqua Expeditions owns and operates the only private fleet of launch boats on the Mekong river. The four ergonomically-designed launch boats bring guests on highly personalized day trips to landmarks, temples, and villages where tradition, spirituality, and craftsmanship reside.

Welcome to your sanctuary on the Mekong river

When it comes to private time on the Aqua Mekong, experience an ample sense of space with ultimate comfort and style. Our 20 spacious, river-facing Design Suites — including four sets of interconnecting suites — are furnished with inviting hardwood interiors along with premium fittings and bedding. In the fully air-conditioned comfort of your river cruise suite, gaze at the Mekong panorama and watch an idyllic world float by.

Without a doubt, our suites are the most luxurious retreat you deserve after a fruitful day out in the Mekong.

Design Suites

Besides being incredibly spacious, our suite’s layouts are designed to maximise space, optimise movement and enhance natural light. Passengers who need walking assistance can navigate our rooms and bathrooms with ease.

Our 8 balcony suites can each accommodate a maximum of two guests. Our 12 non-balcony suites can each accommodate a maximum of three guests (interior sofas can be combined to form a bed), with a maximum cap of 43 guests on board the vessel.

All individual suites measure 322 square feet (30 sq m), inclusive of ensuite bathroom and closet space.

Interconnecting Suites

Be it for larger families or to attain an ultimate experience of luxury, our interconnecting suites are the best choice for guests who desire more private space on the Aqua Mekong.

Eight out of our 20 individual Design Suites on board the Aqua Mekong can be combined into four interconnecting suites via a sliding door. Each interconnecting suite can accommodate up to five guests and consists of one balconied and one non-balconied suite.

For the ultimate romantic cruise, our interconnecting suites offer the luxury of having one suite configured as a living room, while the other as the master bedroom with our sumptuous California King bed. Enjoy his-and-hers baths and the magnificent grandeur of a 644 square foot (60 sq m) residence on the Mekong.

Observation Deck and Sun Lounge

Opening up to the vast Mekong sky, the observation deck on both ends of the Aqua Mekong is the highest vantage point aboard the cruise ship and the ideal place for guests to observe life on the river and riverbanks.

The observation deck is is also the perfect spot for photography, yoga or meditation.

Outdoor Lounge and Bar

Enjoy the Mekong breeze and admire the view with a cocktail or two at the outdoor lounge areas, or sit barside and strike up a conversation with our friendly bartender. Plenty of shade is offered at the bow lounge area, thanks to Aqua Mekong’s iconic sun canopy.

In the evenings, the Mekong’s iconic sunsets draws guests to the open-air decks. Return to the outdoor lounge after dinner for stargazing, outdoor cinema screenings, or endless conversations as the river settles into a soothing peace and quiet.

Indoor Lounge and Bar

With an inviting ambience tastefully blending modern and classic elements, the Aqua Mekong’s indoor lounge and bar is the focal point for social activities on the top deck. Luxurious lounge sofas lets guests relax in air-conditioned comfort while sipping on their drink of choice.

The bar menu is designed by renowned spirit experts and cocktail designers Proof & Co, and features classic cocktails as well as creative concoctions that show off local flavors and ingredients.

Private Screening Room

Enhance any Mekong river cruise journey with our selection of classic films about this exotic region, like The Scent of Green Papaya, The Quiet American∘ and Good Morning Vietnam. Our cruise director will be happy to organize a private screening for up to ten guests here or on the Observation Deck.

The Private Screening Room also sees guests gather for private lecture, videos and documentaries to learn about the fascinating cultures on their Mekong river journey.

Library and Games Room

Immerse in the finest literature about the region or play a game of foosball on our exquisite glass and wood table. The library and games room on the Aqua Mekong is the ideal place for quiet contemplation.

Outdoor Pool

Let the jacuzzi plunge pool’s cool soothing waters take the edge off the tropical heat after an Aqua Expedition shore excursion. Located at the bow of the Aqua Mekong, the outpool pool∘ is well shielded from the elements with a canopy and places guests in a commanding position to soak in Mekong’s majestic panoramic vista.

At 3.5 by 5.17 metres and 1 metre deep, this sheltered plunge pool is spacious and inviting at any time of day.

Dining

Dining Room

As consulting chef for the Aqua Mekong, chef David Thompson creates exclusive dishes for the Aqua Mekong and orchestrates seasonal menus showcasing the full repertoire of flavours from Vietnam and Cambodia in refined style. To do this, chef Thompson uses peak season produce and the freshest ingredients from the Mekong river and the region. His creations include lamb curry with Khmer spices and Vietnamese sugar cane prawns, most of which are served in a communal dining style authentic to the region’s traditions.

For vegans, vegetarians and guest with dietary restrictions, chef Thompson has also tailored a flawless dining experience on board∘ the Aqua Mekong that tailors to individual needs and preferences.

Guests on board the Aqua Mekong discover the region’s cuisine beyond the plate. Aside from on-board cooking demonstrations, guests can follow our chefs to bustling local markets as they procure the finest produce, from freshly-caught Mekong river catfish to newly-harvested Asian greens, for the day’s meals. Coconut, lemongrass, coriander and turmeric are just a few of the most recognizable flavors our guests can expect on chef Thompson’s inventive yet authentic seasonal menus.

Enrichment

Four auxiliary aluminum launch boats equipped with four-stroke low emission engines in constant radio communication with the main vessel and with capacity for 10 passengers depart from the Aqua Mekong two or three times per day on each of our 3,4, and 7 night cruises.

Our experienced river guides lead guests into the sultry jungle on foot, or by bicycle on the riverbanks, in search of enigmatic vestiges of Indochine made famous by Marguerite Duras who grew up along this timeless river, flocks of painted stork, spot billed pelicans and the elusive Masked Finfoot in their last Southeast Asian refuge, flooded emerald forests and bamboo stilt villages accessible only by boat, modern worship of the Golden Lotus in Technicolor splendor and remote Buddhist monasteries still home to noble saffron robed monks who will grant our guests private audiences amidst flickering candles and smiling stone Buddhas.

All Terrain Biking

Ten top-of-the-line Cannondale all-terrain bicycles are provided free of charge onboard for passengers to explore during shore excursions.

A unique way to observe the exotic rituals of daily life along the mighty Mekong is on two wheels, stopping to photograph catfish sellers, the planting of rice paddies or local children playing with the family’s domesticated water buffalo. We are the only Mekong River cruise ship to offer our Aqua Mekong guests complimentary bikes which they can hop on anytime to explore the picturesque riverbanks of the Mekong River. These all-terrain touring bikes are available for both adults and children. Guests can stay fit cycling the flat paved and dirt trails next to the river while discovering, at their leisure, local village life. Aqua Mekong passengers have the option of 8 to 15 kilometer biking routes. Say hello to a crimson robed monk, photograph stilted Khmer houses and ornately embellished pagodas or, perhaps, enjoy an invitation from a new friend to dine in their nearby home.

Kayaking

Guests of the Aqua Mekong take advantage of eight double-kayaks throughout various locations in Cambodia. For example, kayaking in Oknha Tey, guests can paddle to see local silk-weavers at work, or kayak the Moat Khla region by Tonle Sap Lake and/or in the waterways in the Kampong Chnnang Province.

Private Speedboats

Enjoy the all inclusive, twice daily shore excursions on 4 private speedboats, equipped with four-stroke low emission engines and with a capacity for 10 passengers. Our ergonormic, comfortable speedboats will bring you deep into the Mekong's tributaries and up close to life on the river, wherever you wish.
