CLIA summer school sessions to run in July and August

CLIA travel agent summer school 2023

CLIA has confirmed its summer school education series will return in July and August.

The hour-long, virtual classroom sessions each comprise presentations from representatives of four cruise lines.

Each cruise line will give a 15-minute product update or training brief.

The free-of-charge sessions will be held live, so the trade “has access to the latest information and can ask questions in real time”, a statement said.

CLIA providing the ‘go-to’ trade events

CLIA UK & Ireland MD Andy Harmer said: “Our summer school has been particularly well-received by the trade since its return, so we’re pleased to welcome it back by popular demand for another year.

“These interactive sessions will be the go-to summer event for agents looking to get the very latest cruise information direct from the lines themselves.”

Sessions will start on 13 July at 9.30am and will then take place on consecutive Thursdays, all from 9.30am, until the end of August. The full line-up is:

  • 13 July: Windstar Cruises, A-Rosa, Explora Journeys and MSC Cruises
  • 20 July: Quark Expeditions, Oceania Cruises, Royal Caribbean and APT
  • 27 July: Celestyal, Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, Swan Hellenic and AmaWaterways
  • 3 August: Avalon Waterways, Holland America Line, Uniworld Boutique River Cruises and Celebrity Cruises
  • 10 August: CroisiEurope, Seabourn, Amadeus River Cruises and Carnival Cruise Line
  • 17 August: Scenic & Emerald Cruises, AE Expeditions, Princess Cruises and Nicko Cruises
  • 24 August: Virgin Voyages, Tauck, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises and Riverside Luxury Cruises

In late June, CLIA also opened registration for its upcoming Destination Showcase event, taking place in Porto from 6-8 October.
