River cruise and touring operator APT today (18 August) celebrates its 95th anniversary.
To mark the occasion, it is offering its travel agent partners an incentive of a Love2Shop code for every booking.
This incentive was due to end at midnight on 18 August, however due to demand it has been extended until 23:59pm on Saturday 20 August.
All APT and Travelmarvel bookings will be rewarded with £95 worth of Love2Shop vouchers, redeemable with most major retailers and a range of attractions and restaurants.
To help agents clinch a sale, APT also has a balcony sale offer, with savings of up to 50 per cent for customers, plus – for Travelmarvel guests – an upgrade to the best available cabin.
APT & Travelmarvel head of sales and business development Brad Bennetts said: “We have seen such an incredible response to our one-day 95th anniversary incentive that we decided to extend the offer until 23:59 on Saturday 20 August.
“This will allow as many agents as possible the opportunity to secure £95’s worth of Love2Shop vouchers for every booking they make.
“Our agent partners have been an integral part of APT’s business since it began, so we hope this goes some way towards showing our love and appreciation of all their support over the last nine and half decades.”
The APT story
APT was founded in 1927 by Bill McGeary, initially as a bus company. Called Australian Pacific Coaches, it created day tours and themed weekends, such as trips to Sydney.
In the mid-1970s, the company set its sights overseas for the first time, operating escorted tours to New Zealand, and underwent a rebranding to Australian Pacific Tours, or APT.
A Canada and Alaska touring programme was added in 1991, which saw the introduction of journeys by train and cruise ship for the first time.
McGeary’s son, Geoff, then took control of the company, and in 2005 launched its European river cruising holidays. The company is still owned and run by the McGeary family.
